Our Highest Ambition Is To Help People

The High Prairie & District Food Bank Society has been in operation since 1992 and was incorporated as a society in 1997. The society is governed by a voluntary board of directors.

The Food Bank provides food hampers to people that are experiencing food insecurities. We serve people whose age’s ranges from
0-seniors. We serve a variety of People no matter their ethnicity, or background.

The food bank serves approximately 300-500 hampers annually through the food hamper program.  This consists of feeding 800-1100 people annually and over 45% are children.

The Food Bank Serves the communities of: High Prairie, Big Lakes County, 3 Métis Settlements-East Prairie Metis Settlement, Gift Lake Metis Settlement, Peavine Metis Settlement, 5 First Nations-Sucker Creek First Nation, Driftpile Cree Nation, Whitefish First Nation, Kapaweno First Nation, Swan River First Nation, An approximate population of 20,000 plus.

The High Prairie & District Food Bank Society recognizes that food insecurity exists in our communities. The Purpose of the Society is to provide food to individuals and families in crisis without judgment or prejudice.

Ways of donating include:

  • You may leave a donation in one of our donation boxes located in participating businesses.
  • Participate in our corporate sponsorship when hosting fundraising events.
